In June 2006, the FDA approved Juvederm dermal filler to treat moderate to severe wrinkles and folds on the face, such as nasolabial folds (those lines that extend from your nose to the corners of your mouth).
What is juvederm?
Juvederm is a filler that is injected. It contains hyaluronic acid, a natural complex sugar that makes the skin more elastic and gives it a smooth, soft look. It works with the body and replaces the hyaluronic acid that age has taken away.
Juvederm is the name for this group of products as a whole. Juvederm Ultra is the “regular” filler, and Juvederm Ultra Plus is used to treat deeper facial folds. The effects of Juvederm Ultra Plus may last longer. Juvederm Voluma, a new product, helps add volume to the cheeks and chin. Deep nasogenian grooves, which are the folds between your cheeks and nose, and nasolabial folds, which are the so-called “marionette lines” that form between your nose and the corners of your mouth, are both areas that can be treated. Juvederm can also be used to add volume to the lips (often in combination with lip lifts) and change the shape of the cheeks.
There are also injections of Belotero, Perlane, and Restylane that use hyaluronic acid as a treatment. Your plastic surgeon can tell you which of these fillers is best for you.
How Does Juvederm Work?
A syringe is used to inject the clear Juvederm gel into the middle to deep dermis of your face. The dermis is the layer of skin below the surface. It is made up of nerve endings, connective tissue, sweat and oil glands, and blood vessels.
Juvederm Filler Benefits
Juvederm makes you look better by lifting and adding volume to wrinkles and folds in the area where it is used. After 6 to 9 months, the body takes in the biocompatible compound on its own.
One benefit of Juvederm is that it is made of a soft gel, which may make it look smoother and more natural than some of its more rigid predecessors. Another benefit is that the effects of Juvederm may last longer.
How long does juvederm last?
the effects of Juvederm may last longer. The new look may last for 6 to 9 months. If you get a second treatment a few weeks after the first one, the benefits may last even longer.
Is juvederm safe? – Side Effects of juvederm
Rarely, Juvederm can cause redness, tenderness, or pain at the area where it was injected. If this happens, it usually goes away in three days. Rarely, the color may change, but this can be fixed. Firmness, swelling, bumps, and bruises are also uncommon side effects that should go away in about a week.
Juvederm Volbella
These days, everyone wants full, pouty lips. This desire is fueled by our shared love of celebrity lips, and new techniques and technologies are making it easier than ever to look like your favorite celebrity. The American Society of Plastic Surgeons says that every 19 minutes, someone in the U.S. has their lips enhanced.
For years, we were scared off by pictures of celebrities with “trout pout” or “fish face,” which means their lips were too full (and not in a good way).
But now, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has given the go-ahead for a new lip filler called Juvederm Volbella XC. Volbella from Allergan is currently sold in more than 100 countries.
After it comes out in the U.S., people who know think that Juvederm Volbella XC will make lip enhancements even more popular.
Volbella is approved to make lips look fuller and less like they have “bar codes” or “smoker’s lines” in adults over the age of 21. Like other Juvederm products (like Juvederm and Juvederm Voluma), Juvederm Volbella XC adds volume by adding hyaluronic acid to the body.
In one of the studies that led to the U.S. approval of the fillers, about two-thirds of the people treated with Volbella had fuller lips and less noticeable lip lines after a year.
Juvederm Volbella XC is made the same way as its sister product, Juvederm Voluma XC. It is made with Vycross technology, which makes a smoother gel that flows easily and consistently.
Sculptra and Radiesse vs. Juvederm Voluma
Do we need one more filler? Yes, experts say we do. Other hyaluronic acid fillers are great for fine lines and wrinkles around the mouth, nose, and eyes, but Juvederm Voluma is for larger areas that need more filling.
People often use fat Fillers in the same places as Voluma. But one problem with fat injections is that you can’t always tell what will happen. The fat must also come from a different part of the body where there is more of it. This means there are two steps to do it. Out-of-the-box injectables, like Juvederm Voluma, only need one step to use.
Surveys done during studies of Juvederm Voluma show that almost all of the people who took part would recommend the treatment to a friend, and most of them would come back for more. Voluma injections have lidocaine in them to make the shots less painful. After treatment, you might have redness, swelling, or bruises. Voluma is less likely than other fillers on the market, like Sculptra and Radiesse, to cause nodules and granulomas (bumps and lumps) and/or move around. There is no downtime, and you can see results right away that last up to 18 months. We don’t know how much it will cost yet.
How much does juvederm cost in Dubai?
The price of Juvederm per syringe is usually between 2000 AED and 4800 AED, depending on the formula and other factors. In some situations, you may need a second syringe to get a good result. In these situations, some cosmetic centers or surgeons may charge less for the second syringe.
